Thomas Labryga

Thomas leverages his 10+ years of experience as a consultant and VC-investor in the global energy industry to identify and support a new generation of cleantech startups. He is an active partner at Vireo Ventures and a co-founder of the M&A advisory firm IOM Advisory.

 

Before founding Vireo Ventures, Thomas was Investment Partner at the venture capital investment arm of one of the largest utilities in Europe. There, he was focusing on growth investments in the areas of Future Energy, Smart City, eMobility and new digital technologies (North America (SV), Europe and Israel). In this role, he was leading the energy investment domain and was engaged on several advisory boards of portfolio companies i.a. gridX, eSmart Systems, or GreenCom.

 

Thomas has started his career as a management consultant in the energy industry where he conducted projects along the whole electricity value-chain (from generation, distribution, energy trading to retail). During that time, Thomas has, among other things, built an energy consultant subsidiary in the middle east and played a vivid role in the IPO of Innogy SE - one of the largest public offerings in Germany.

 

Furthermore, Thomas is a regular speaker, participant in panel discussions and jury member for energy startup competitions. He holds a MSc in International Business from Maastricht University and is a certified electricity trader – though be has not traded a single kWh so far :)
